How Can a Painful Lump On The Tongue Be Treated?

What causes a lump on your tongue.My dentist sent me an oral surgeon tor biopsy and was sent to the lab. He told it was was caner.I still get the lump and it goes and and goes. I rinse with salt water and mouth wash. I now get like mush in my mouth. The doctor something but can't remember. Would it be
caused by eating fresh fruit.

Thanks for the query..

Well, if the lump comes and goes then it is not definitely cancerous as cancerous lumps does not regress in size..
So it can be probably due to inflammation of tongue leading to swollen tongue papillae or can be abscess formation due to infection.
If it occurs after taking any specific food then it can be due to allergy..

So my suggestion to you is to consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated, a blood test can help in ruling out allergies.

Also please upload an image of the lump and the biopsy report..

If the lump is painful apply Lidocaine gel and avoid spicy food..
Continue doing warm saline gargles an apply cool compresses..
